The local amateur football scene is celebrating two of its clubs reaching the semi-final of the prestigious Emrys Morgan Cup.

Despite being traditionally dominated by West Wales clubs, both Forden United and Four Crosses are into the last four following tremendous away wins.

Second division Forden United travelled back from Newcastle-on-Clun with a 3-1 win in tough conditions, booking their spot courtesy of goals from Kieren Evans, Darryl Jones and Mike Henderson-Smith.

Four Crosses dug deep to bring the honours back from Tregaron Turfs with Ben Simms bagging a double, including the winner in extra time.

All eyes will be on the semi-final draw with hopes of the two avoiding each other for a potential all-Montgomeryshire final.
