Welshpool Town have secured second in the Spar Mid Wales League after main rivals Llanidloes and Bow Street lost.

The Daffs shock defeat at home to Carno, coupled with Bow Street’s reverse at Radnor Valley, means that Welshpool Town cannot be caught in second.

Meanwhile, champions Llanrhaeadr celebrated picking up the trophy by easing past Llandrindod Wells 3-0, and can go on to be champions by a whopping 20 points if they win their last three games.

Berriew passed their season’s target of 40 points with a 6-0 win at Tywyn Bryncrug, while in Spar Two, Montgomery are finishing with a flourish after seeing off Penybont 7-1.

Guilsfield Reserves kept the Montgomeryshire Amateur League title chase alive with a 6-0 win over Caersws Reserves.
