Fletcher, Williams take club honours

The experienced Mark Fletcher was in fine form at the weekend, taking Welshpool's Club Championship gross title.

The five-handicapper fired rounds of 77 and 78 in sizzling conditions to lift the prestigious Cup.

But the club’s future looks bright with 15-year-old Max Williams (22) collecting the nett title with rounds of 67 and 65 for a two-shot winning margin from Steve Proctor. Martin Hughes was a further seven shots back in third.
