One finals place up for grabs

The Newtown Premier Darts League is heading towards a dramatic Finals night with just one spot still up for grabs.

Garry Jones is in the box seat, needing a victory in his last game against fellow Welshpool Super League player, Neil Astley, to qualify.

Gareth Ashley, Mitch Butler, Chris Hurds, Kacey Jones and Sean Barnett have already booked their sports for the Finals on October 5.

Barnett forced a draw with 2017 champion Craig Davies to claim his place, while Butler came from two legs down to beat Jones 4-2.

Elsewhere, Steve Greenwood returned to winning ways with a 4-2 win over Johnnie Francis following on from his draw earlier in the night with Dave Rix.

There were two wins on the night also for Ewan Jones who enjoyed his return to form.
