The group we featured last month that is organising banger races for charity has confirmed another one will take place this weekend.
Last month’s Border Raceway event raised more than £2,000, and it is hoped another decent sum can be raised from a day of oval racing this Sunday.
The event will be held at Whittington (post code - SY11 4NT) and money raised from the day will go to the local Riding for the Disabled charity.
“We’d like to invite everyone to come along and help us raise much needed funds for this great charity,” said Lisa Evans, who runs Border Raceway with her husband, Gareth, with the support of a band of volunteers. All money raised from their events go to a variety of local charities and good causes with around £20,000 raised to date.
“It will be an action packed day offering everything from juniors (aged 10-16 years old) up to grandads.
“We also have special events during half-time like beat the flag and chase my partner.”
