Montgomeryshire’s bid to bring the FAW Trophy back to the area is on track after a fruitful weekend for local clubs in the second round.
Caersws, Berriew, Llanfair United, Four Crosses, Churchstoke, Llansantffraid and Carno all recorded wins to move through to the third round draw.
But it wasn’t such a bright day for Llanrhaeadr and Guilsfield in the Huws Gray Cup with both sides losing at Conwy Borough and Ruthin respectively.
Welshpool Town lost on the road, 2-1, at unbeaten Radnor Valley in the MMP Mid Wales League, while Abermule won 4-0 in the second division at Dyffryn Banw.
The two top flight matches in the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire Amateur League finished all square but there were wins for Welshpool Town Reserves, Llanrhaeadr Reserves and Trefonen in the second division.
