Ashley clinches darts title

The Newtown Premier Darts League title is heading to Welshpool after Gareth Ashley clinched the 10^th edition of the sought after championship.

Ashley won a tight semi-final 4-3 against Sean Barnett, before pulling out all of the stops to beat Welsh international Mitch Butler 4-0 in the final.

Butler overcame Chris Hurds in the semi-final, despite Hurds missing six doubles to clinch a win, but he was soundly beaten by Ashley who had shared the top two positions with Butler for most of the season.

It was another top quality night of darts with Ashley speechless at the presentation.
