Forden United have gone top of the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire Amateur League after making it six wins from six games on Saturday.

The Barcodes, who romped home with the Division Two title last season following an historic 100% record, have eased into life in the top flight and took advantage of Guilsfield Reserves not being in action to beat Llanfair United Reserves 6-0 and go top.

Bishop’s Castle won 4-0 at Llanfyllin Town to keep in touch with the early season pace setters, while Maesyrhandir won 2-1 at Meifod.

Newtown Wanderers won the battle of the top two in Division Two to inflict Trefonen’s first defeat of the season.

Welshpool Town Reserves took advantage with a 1-0 win at Abermule Reserves to close the gap at the top.
