Guilsfield will be out to perform their biggest ever giant killing act when Welsh Cup holders and current Welsh Premier leaders Connah’s Quay Nomads visit for an intriguing third round tie.
The villagers upset the Nomads back in the 2007/08 along with two other Welsh premier sides when they reached the quarter-finals, and will go into tomorrow’s tie on the back of a brilliant victory over Flint last week.
Newtown are the only other local club in Welsh Cup action.
Things are heating up in the MMP Mid Wales League with Berriew taking on fellow title hopefuls Llanidloes in the clash of the day. Leaders Caersws are at Aberaeron while Welshpool Town play under their Friday night lights against Bow Street.
There is a full programme of fixtures in the second division with Waterloo Rovers, Montgomery and Four Crosses keen to maintain their promotion bids.
In the amateur league, unbeaten Guilsfield Reserves and Forden United are both in league action, while Bishop’s Castle are involved in the Tanners Town Cup.
