Forden unbeaten run ends

15/01/2019 @ 02:28

Forden United’s bid to go two seasons in the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire Amateur League without dropping a point ended on Saturday when they suffered a surprise defeat at Llanfyllin.

Last season, Forden won all 22 games to take the division two title, and this season has started with six league wins, but it wasn’t to be lucky number seven with a solitary goal lifting Llanfyllin off the bottom of the table.

Trewern missed out on the chance to pressure the top three after being held 3-3 at Llanfair United Reserves.

Welshpool Town Reserves returned to the top of the second division with a 2-1 win at Llanymynech. Newtown Wanderers kept in touch with a 7-0 win.
