A former Welshpool youngster has signed for Aberystwyth in the Welsh Premier League after taking a break from professional football.
Callum Preston, who was raised in Welshpool, is a former Wales Under-19 international goalkeeper. The 23-year-old left Wrexham in the summer to pursue a degree in professional sports writing and broadcasting.
Born in Stafford he was raised and educated in Welshpool and was on Liverpool’s books as a junior before joining Birmingham City. He has played for Worcester City in the National League (North) and made nine League Two appearances for Crawley Town in 2015 before spells at Altrincham and Wrexham.
