Llanfair look to close the gap

08/03/2019 @ 12:55

All eyes will be on Llanfair United on Saturday to see if they can step up their bid to win the MMP Mid Wales League One title.

After a run of superb form, Llanfair travel to Kerry looking to take advantage of leaders Llanidloes Town and close rivals Caersws and Berriew not being in league action this weekend to strengthen their push.

In the second division, leaders Montgomery Town travel to Aberystwyth University and Waterloo Rovers host Dyffryn Banw. Abermule are off to Borth United.

The big match of the weekend sees Newtown host Barry Town United in the JD Welsh Premier without Dave Jones in the sticks as he continues to recover from concussion.

In the Huws Gray Alliance, Guilsfield host Holywell Town while Llanrhaeadr travel to Denbigh Town.

Central Wales Cup quarter-finals will see Four Crosses host Llanidloes Town, while Berriew welcome Bow Street and Carno go to Radnor Valley.

There’s also a healthy programme of amateur league matches with Division One leaders Guilsfield Reserves going to Maesyrhandir.
