Berriew up to joint third

The weather decimated Saturday’s football plans, but Berriew took advantage of Friday night action by moving up to joint third in the MMP Mid Wales League.

A strong first half performance did the damage against Llansantffraid Village in a 4-2 win with Charlie Humphreys, Richard Davies (2) and 17-year-old debutant Bailee James Austin on the scoresheet.

The only other game held this weekend was also Friday night with Newtown going down 2-0 at Connah’s Quay Nomads in the JD Welsh Premier.
