Hazel’s Wales are Atlantic champs

The Wales team managed by Berriew’s Hazel Wilson has been crowned Atlantic Champions on home turf.

Hosting the Atlantic Championships in Cardiff, Wales beat South Africa 15-9 in the final to take the title, having earlier topped their group and beating Zimbabwe in the semi-finals.

Hazel (right) was assisted by Wendy Price (second right), from Llandrindod Wells, with the team consisting of (from left) Melanie Thomas, Lampeter; Sara Marie Nicholls, Llandeilo (singles player); Ysie White, Tenby; Bethan Russ, Port Talbot; and Anwen Butten, Lampeter.
