Guilsfield add to Welshpool woes

13/04/2011 @ 12:30

Guilsfield’s sizzling end of season form continued last night with a 2-1 victory over local rivals Technogroup Welshpool.

But the villagers will be keeping an eye on the headlines this week in the hope that their closest rivals will receive the injection of cash required for them to see out the season.

Money troubles continue to trouble Town who are desperately awaiting due sponsorship cash in order to see out their remaining fixtures before dropping down to the Spar Mid Wales League next season.

And this morning secretary Liam Pritchard confirmed that he was still waiting for the phone to ring.

On the pitch Chris Herbert has still gone about his business but last night they fell short in a poor game that failed to live up to the hype.

Top scorer Ross Frame slotted Guilsfield ahead in the first half before Town struck back on 65 minutes. But Guilsfield took the spoils with 10 minutes to go when Mark Davies nodded home Rob Cookson’s cross.
