17/04/2011 @ 08:05

Technogroup Welshpool and Guilsfield suffered heavy defeats in the Huws Gray Alliance yesterday, but Caersws pulled off another great result over league leaders Rhyl.

Welshpoool crashed 5-1 at Rhos Aelwed who had a hat-trick hero in Mike Burke. Steve Powell and Jon Rush got their other goals with former Newtown front runner Jamie Breeze getting Pool's consolation goal.

Guilsfield’s run of good results came to an end with a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Ruthin and one man celebrating was former Guil Adam Jenkins (pictured). The youngster switched to Ruthin three weeks ago and scored on 51 minutes. Ruthin's other goals were from Arron Aby (Pen) and Kevin Garland.

Caersws pulled off one off one of the biggest shocks of the season by beating Rhyl 2-1.

It looked like service as normal for championship chasing Rhyl when they took the lead at The Recreation Ground in the ninth minute through Scott Becket.

But Mickey Evans’s side battled back and levelled on 64 minutes through Jacob Smith. The sting in the tail came in injury time when the Bluebirds pulled off victory with a Gareth Williams strike.

Rhayader are refusing to accept relegartion and drew 1-1 with Flint. Mike Collister put the Radnor side ahead on 30 minutes only to see Ben Jones equalise on 55.
