More Welshpool glory at Nationals
Adele Nicoll (pictured) completed a sensational throwing double on Sunday by adding the shot put gold to Saturday’s discus title, and Welshpool High School student Arthur Powell won silvers in the U15 100m and 300m.
Adele threw an equal personal best 16.34m on Sunday to finish three metres clear of second placed Sabrina Fortune’s 13.34m.
Meanwhile, Arthur won his heat before finishing second in the U15 300m final to Liam Topp in a time of 36.97 seconds. It was the same 1-2 in the 100m, with Arthur recording another personal best of 11.43 seconds, just 0.1 behind Topp.
As we reported yesterday though, his achievement was bettered by his Maldwyn Harriers teammate Maddie Griffiths who won the U15 Girls 1500m title in some style.
