And it played host to some incredible darting talent with Aberystwyth’s Martin Thomas coming away with top honours.
Thomas, a regular on PDC tour events, got his challenge off to the perfect start by winning both his challenges. In Challenge One, he defeated Penall’s Steve Evans, also a PDC player, in the final by 5-3 which included his brilliant maximum checkout of 170.
In the final of Challenge Two, Thomas defeated Chris Hurds 5-1.
There were excellent runs by Newtown’s John Rees, who obtained a quarter-final and a semi-final placing in his first NDO competition.
Semi-finals were also achieved by Rob Bond, John Mansell and Craig Davies.
