Pool can’t stop the Daffs

A strong performance gave Llanidloes Town yet another MMP Mid Wales League three points to maintain their advantage at the top by 13 points with just eight games remaining.

A goal in each half gave The Daffs the advantage over Welshpool Town, before a late Will Thomas penalty gave the leaders some nervy final minutes, but they were good value for their 2-1 win.

Caersws slumped further down the table following a 3-1 loss at Llandrindod Wells while Builth Wells remain the main challengers following their 5-0 win over Carno.

Montgomery Town edged past bottom side Llansantffraid while there were home defeats for Four Crosses and Berriew.

Division Two title chasers Penparcau, Machynlleth and Newbridge all won but Waterloo Rovers stay in touch following their 6-3 win.

In the JD Cymru North, Guilsfield and Llanrhaeadr were left without games due to weather, but bottom side Llanfair United returned from Rhyl with a 7-1 defeat.
