Football Festival, Triathlon cancelled

Not surprisingly two of this summer’s big sporting events have called it a day for now, with the Montgomery Triathlon and Andrew Lloyd Football Festival going for cancellations rather than postponing to later in the year.

However, the Country & Western organisers have said that they will monitor the situation and make a decision early July.

Both events announced over the weekend that they would knock this year on the head and try again next year.

The Montgomery Canal Triathlon was readying itself for its biggest ever event, but have made the decision to cancel and said it is “likely to be held on May 8, 2021”.

The Andrew Lloyd Football Festival was scheduled for June, but organiser Suzanne Rowlands said last night that “we will be back in 2021!”.

The announcements wipe out the remaining social and sporting activity that was planned for the next few months.
