Berriew have unveiled the new management duo of James Langford (right) and Dan Pritchard (left) who will take the helm at the newly formed reserve team for the 2020/2021 season.

Both are well known figures in Montgomeryshire football with Langford a former Berriew striker and midfielder Pritchard formerly running the reserve sides at Welshpool Town and Guilsfield.

“I am delighted to be returning to Berriew, the club that gave me my first taste of men’s football,” said Langford.

“Coaching the Under 10's for the past two years has been thoroughly enjoyable, the club’s junior set up is impressive and a real asset to the development of the senior teams. On being approached to undertake the role, Dan and I were both immediately keen to get involved with us both knowing first-hand the club’s standards and committee.”

First Team Manager David Jones (centre) said that reforming a reserve team had been an ambition of the club for the last few years.

“We are delighted that James and Dan have agreed to take on the role,” he said. “The reserve team is the final link between the junior set up and the first team, with the club now boasting a sides for every age group from under 7 all the way up to the under 19s, reserves, and first team showing a clear pathway for players to progress right through to the senior side.”
