2020 season not over yet!

29/07/2020 @ 07:33

Last season’s regional cup competitions will be played to conclusions as curtain raisers for the 2020/21 season, it has been revealed.

The Cenral Wales FA has emailed clubs this week informing them that competitions such as the Central Wales Cup and Emrys Morgan Cup will be played out in the fortnight before the new season begins, with a date yet to be confirmed.

It is hoped that local grass roots football can resume in September and clubs still involved have been told by the Central Wales FA: “Your club will need to schedule the cup fixtures into your pre-season friendly fixtures.”

The Central Wales Cup is still at the quarter-final stage, with Guilsfield facing Llanidloes and Bishop’s Castle taking on Builth Wells. The winner of those will take on the victor from Berriew and Penrhyncoch.

In the Emrys Morgan Cup, the winner of Guilsfield Reserves and Brecon Corries face Newcastle Emlyn in one semi-final, while Tregaron face Cardigan Town in the other.

The youth Cup and Ladies Cup competitions also need to be played out.
