Walking through yesterday’s Welshpool

12/04/2021 @ 10:56

With lockdown restrictions easing, local history enthusiast Alan Crowe is offering guided walks through the town as part of the Memories of Welshpool project.

Whether you are a couple, family or in your current social bubble Alan will take you back in time to how the town used to be.

Walks can either be around the town, along the route that the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway took when it once passed through the town centre, or around St Mary’s churchyard.

“The walks not only give people the chance to learn about the town's past but also gets them out in the open with some good exercise,” said Alan.

"The walks are illustrated with photographs and there is no charge although a donation to the ENSA Memorial Charity that I support would be appreciated.”

To book a walk, call Alan on 07782166342.

Memories of Welshpool has been popular throughout lockdown with videos and photos viewed tens of thousands of times via the project’s social media channels.
