Guilsfield through despite late scare

Guilsfied saw off the challenge of Llandudno Albion in the FAW Welsh Cup despite a late scare.

The Villagers raced into a four goal lead with goals from Jenkins, Cook, Hyne and Matthews before Maddock gave the North Walians a glimmer of hope with a reply.

And when Matthews restored Guilsfield’s advantage from the penalty spot it looked all over but Llandudno finished in style with goals from Maddock and Smith to see the game end 5-3.

There was cup agony for Llanrhaeadr who conceded two injury time goals at home to Saltney to lose 5-3.

Llanidloes led Bangor City 1-0 at the break but went out 4-1 while Newtown were too strong for Berriew winning 6-1 at Latham Park.
