Guilsfield kept the Montgomeryshire flag flying in the Welsh FA Cup competition with a 4-2 win at Dinas Powis thanks to goals from Adam Jenkins, Robbie James (2) and George Clifton despite finishing with 10 men following a red card for Sam Litchfield.
Newtown are out of the Welsh FA Cup, beaten in a dramatic penalty shoot-out by Carmarthen at Latham Park this afternoon.
The Robins started firm favourites against struggling Carmarthen but trailed to an early Dion Phillips strike and it took until the 65th minute for them to level from an Aaron Williams penalty.
Carmarthen proved the better side from the penalty spot, scoring all five attempts to go through 5-3.
