03/10/2021 @ 01:23

Forden runner Andrew Davies has clocked an incredible time to finish 10th in this morning’s London Marathon.

Davies, who turns 42 later this month, is looking in the form of his life ahead of next year’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, and completed the 26.2 miles in a stunning time of two hours 15:36 seconds.

Not surprisingly, his time was enough to secure top spot in the 40-44 year-old category and saw him finish ahead of a handful of Ethiopian and Kenyan runners. Davies is the over-40 British record holder with a time of 2:14:36 set at the Valencia Marathon in 2019.

The event, which attracted over 40,000 runners and many more running it virtually, was won by by Ethiopia’s Sisay Lemma in 2:04:01 followed by Kenya’s Vincent Kipchumba. Davies was the fourth Briton to finish.
