Berriew let 3-1 lead slip away

Berriew surrendered a 3-1 lead to go down 4-3 at Caersws in the Lock Stock Ardal North East League last night.

The Rhiewsiders will be mightily disappointed to have lost a game they looked to have in the bag but it was Caersws who took all three points.

Edward Baker gave Berriew a first minute lead but their joy was shortlived with Glynn Coney levelling four minutes later only for Steffan Rogers to give the visitors a 2-1 interval lead.

Richard Davies was hero and villain as the second half got under way making it 3-1 before putting through his own net to put Caersws back in the game.

Coney grabbed his second from the penalty spot on 65 minutes to level the scores and with the momentum now swing Caersws’ way Luke Evans grabbed the winner on 74 minutes .
