Pool win seven goal thriller

Welshpool Town collected three valuable points in the Lock Stock Ardal North East League last night.

Maesydre fans were treated to a second half half seven goal feat after Pool and 10-man Corwen failed to find the target in the first 45 minutes.

Harry Pooler gave the visitors the lead on 62 minutes but a minute later Ryan Knott levelled from the penalty spot and four minutes later James Clewlow put Town ahead.

A 69th minute red card for William Roberts didn’t help Corwen’s causeand Knott soon made it 3-1. Scott Evans gave Corwen some hope when he made it 3-2 only to see Adam Knott extend Pool’s lead.

Evans netted again to give Pool fans some bad moments on 90 minutes and there was still time for Ryan Knott to miss a penalty before the final whistle came with the score at 4-3.

Forden put up a really brave fight at Llanidloes in the General Tire Montgomeryshire Cup before going out 3-2.

Owen gave the Daffs a 14th minute lead only to see Ryan Jenkins level on 26 minutes. But Llani were ahead again before the break through Brown.

Alex Morgan levelled again for the villagers on 69 minutes but their hopes of cup progress were dashed through a Josh Hartrick penalty on 83 minutes.

There were an amazing 17 goals in the FAW Reserve League clash between Guilsfield and Four Crosses with the Guils winning 13-4.

Crosses led three times in the first half before amazingly going in 6-3 at the break and Guilsfield ran riot in the second half.

Jamie Hyne led the way by netting six of the 13 goals, Gareth Mansell grabbed a hat-trick and the other scorers were Daniel Williams. Richard Davies, Kyle Capner and Harry Garthwaite. Crosses did manage one second half goal.

Beriew Reserves won 2-0 at Llandrindod with first half strikes fromMarc Jones and David Box, holding on to win despite as second half red card for Taylor Windsor.
