Guilsfield slipped up and Welshpool took a home beating in yesterday’s football programme.
Guilsfield could only draw 1-1 at Holyhead in their search for JD Cymru North honours. The villagers led 1-0 at half time through a 43rd minute Iwan Matthews strike but 10 minutes into the second half Dean Garmey earned the North Wales side a share of the points.
Welshpool came up against a strong and determined Cefn Albion side with eyes on the Lock Stock Ardal North East title and crashed 4-0 at The Maesydre.
Jones and Williams saw Albion go in at half time 2-0 ahead and Williams added a second before Latham netted a penalty after a controversial hand ball decision.
