Guilsfield Bowling Club are celebrating a successful application for funding that will allow the sport to be played in the village day or night.

The club have been awarded £2,395 by the National Lottery Community Fund to purchase portable Floodlights supplied by Ritelight Systems Limited.

Richard Wilkins, Chair, said “we are thrilled” and thanked the National Lottery players and the Community grant fund, on behalf of the Club Members.

“These portable and rechargeable floodlights will allow us, as a Bowling Club, to play later in the evening and lengthen our season, and will also allow us to support other community groups who can also benefit from their use,” he said.    

Craig Williams, MP for Montgomeryshire, presented the cheque on behalf of The National Lottery to Elwyn Evans, Club President, watched by other committee members and players.
