Astley hits six for Llanfair

Llanfair are now two points clear at the top of the Lock Stock Ardal NorthEast League after Josh Astley destroyed Four Crosses with a six goal salvo.

Astley netted twice in the first half and Nyasha Mwamuka made it 3-0 at the break. Astley scored four more before being substituted and Mwamuka and Owain James completed the scoring to see the Mount Field side run out 9-0 winners.

Welshpool scored early at Bow Street but went down 4-2 while Waterloo Rovers won 5-3 at Ll;anfyllin thanks to goals from Tom Ellis (2), Luke Evans, Steve Jones and Jake Mantell. Steve Stoke, William Davies and Darren Greenaway rep0lied for the home side.

Guilsfield had to come from behind to earn a point against 10-manRuthin. Iwan Matthews grabbed a 52nd minute equaliser after Ruithin's Jamie Cummings had netted in the 21st minute. Chris Boyes saw red four minutes after half time.

Forden enjoyed an outstanding victory in the Central Wales FA Cup beating much fancied Dolgellau 2-1. Gerwyn Williams gave Dolgellau an early lead but Alex Morgan had Forden level before the break and Michael Henderson-Smith netted a 56^th minute penalty to put Forden into the next round.

Berriew were also in the goals on Friday night beating Corwen 7-0 in the Ardal North East League. Joe Haycock and Ed Baker made it 2-0 at the break and Haycock completed his hat-trick in the second half with further goals from Richard Davies and Stefan Rogers and an own goal.
