Boot is on the other foot for COBRA coach!

01/05/2022 @ 08:46

Despite defeat on the pitch in the final of the North Wales Women’s Cup, COBRA’s head coach left with a big win from the Principality Stadium, in Cardiff today.

The ladies lost the final 45-10 to an excellent Caernarfon, but to top off a wonderful occasion for the club, scrum half Ffion Williams got down on one knee to propose to boyfriend, Rhodri Davies after the final whistle on the hallowed turf.

On the pitch, things started well for the Meifod outfit with an early try, but the North Walians took control to go into the break 33-5 ahead.

Caernarfon continued to pull ahead in the second half, but COBRA finished strongly with the last score of the game. The tries were scored by Gemma Robinson and Adelaide Edwards.

Our rugby correspondent, Gary Williams, who took the pictures, said the club had done Mid Wales proud on the day and added: “Of course Rhodri said ‘yes’!”
