Former Guilsfield, Caersws and Llanidloes Town manager Mike Barton is back in Mid Wales football, unveiled as the new manager of Llanrhaeadr last night.
The well-travelled former Newtown goalkeeper replaces Marc Griffiths who stepped down following nine years at the helm and had spent last season in charge of Morda United, who play in the Salop Leisure Shropshire League.
“We are at the start of the next chapter of our history and we feel that we have the correct man at the helm,” said a club spokesperson, keen to stress that the club intends for an immediate return to the JD Cymru North following relegation.
Barton said that it was a tough decision to leave Morda but that a return to Mid Wales football was an offer “too good to turn down”.
