Bale to TNS?

08/06/2022 @ 10:37

Wales free agent Gareth Bale has been linked with a number of clubs following his departure from Real Madrid, but the latest could well be the most ambitious yet.

Five-time Champions League winner Bale is without a club, deciding to focus instead on seeing Wales to the Qatar 2022 World Cup rather than look for a new club.

But he has been linked to moves all over the world since, with a stint at home town club Cardiff City for three months pre-World Cup followed by a lucrative swansong in the USA post-World Cup seemingly the favourite.

However, Welshpool’s millionaire owner of TNS in the JD Welsh Premier, Mike Harris, has tested the water with a cheeky Tweet overnight directed at the Wales captain.

“So @Gareth Bale, would you come to TNS and help the first Welsh club get to Champions League group stage?”

Bale was believed to be on £600,000 a week at Real Madrid and while he is said to be willing to take a massive pay cut for a potential short-tern return back to his native Wales, it remains to be seen whether that would fit in with the border club’s pay roll.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker was instrumental once again in Wales qualifying to their first World Cup since 1958 on Sunday night.
