Adele claims final place

Welshpool’s shot put star Adele Nicoll has just qualified for the final of the Commonwealth Games.

It really was a dream come true for Adele when she pulled on the Wales vest this morning and then threw 17.30 metres to qualify for the final in fourth place.

Adele will need to be at her best later in the week to get into a medal place with the top-three finishers this morning all throwing further than our girl’s best ever throw.

After joining Team GB in the bobsleigh at the Winter Olympics earlier this year, Adele’s shot put distances have just got better and better. Let’s hope she can come up with something really special.
