Sweet Caroline!

After all the high adrenaline drama of Adele Nicoll in the Athletics and Dan Jones in the Swimming over recent days, our Commonwealth Games journey continues through Montgomery bowler Caroline Taylor who has reached the quarter-finals of the Women’s Pairs.

Managed by her Berriew Bowling Club teammate, Hazel Wilson (right), Caroline has played superbly to go through to Friday’s last eight with Sara Nicholls.

The pair opened their Group D campaign with a thrilling 16-16 draw with Canada, before losing to the much-fancied Australians 21-15, but bouncing back to beat Brunei Darussalam, 27-8.

It was enough to finish second in their Group and advance with Australia to the quarters. The pairs group action continues this morning and then the Welsh duo will learn who tomorrow’s opponent will be following the draw.
