Guilsfield manager Mike Barton (left) says he will fight to keep youngster Adam Jenkins at the village club.
Jenkins, the son of Trewern Primary School Head Colin Jenkins, joined Guilsfield from Technogroup Welshpool during the close season as the town side faced a mass walkout of playing staff after relegation from the Welsh Premier League.
But unable to secure a first team place Jenkins has been unsettled by seven days notice of approach from Pool manager Graham Evans, himself a former Guilsfield manager.
"I have had a good chat to Adam about the situation and I am confident that he will choose to stay at Guilsfield," said Barton, whose side entertain struggling Rhayader tomorrow.
Barton once figured in goal for Rhayader so will want to put one over on his old club but continues to be without the injured Gareth Jones. Barton adds Mike Sawtell to the squad.
