Technogroup Welshpool have made the charitable gesture of donating their shirt sponsorship space to charity this season.
Club chairman Michael Dawkins presented a replica of the home and away kits to representatives of Severn Hospice prior to Town’s match with Ruthin on Saturday.
A spokesperson explained: “The kit was kindly donated by a supporter who requested that Severn Hospice’s logo was present on the shirt instead of a sponsor in order to raise the profile of such a worthwhile cause.”
Such philanthropy from football clubs is rare but the best known case is Barcelona who signed a five-year deal in 2006 to display the UNICEF logo across their shirts.
