Welshpool-based Newtown FC Manager Andy Cale put the disappointment of a Saturday defeat to one side to win Sunday's stableford event at Welshpool Golf Club on Sunday.

Cale(14) won the Turkey Trail event, coming in with an impressive 38 points, to edge out Delwyn Morris(11) by a point. Morris beat Marc Brown(4) into third place on the countack.

And the talk in the Cale household was probably golf not football at the weekend with his partner Jayne Mitchell(27) winning the silver salver for the best nett score of 69 at the MWCGA Autumn Medal at Llandrindod Wells, winning the silver division.

On Saturday an 18-hole bogey competition took place won by Mal Dutton (15) with a score of +2, Pat Burke (11) in 2nd place also with +2, and Mark Williams (18) in 3rd place also brought in a score of +2.

A MWCGA Mixed Greensome was played at Llanidloes and was won by the Welshpool pairing of Ladies Captain, Diana Naylor & Mike Kendall with another Welshpool pair, Ann Newell & Ben Jones coming in 3rd place.
