A disclocated shoulder may have put a temporary halt to Dyffryn Banw midfielder Mark Roberts' playing days but it has done nothing to slow down his golf successes.
Roberts(16) put the pain to one side on Saturday at Welshpool Golf Club to secure a Christmas turkey in a 12-hole Stableford Turkey Trail, recording a score of 27 points. In 2nd place was junior member Sam Prince (28), who also came in with 27 points and in third place, also with 27 points, was Mark Proctor (23).
On Sunday, a 12-hole medal Turkey Trail was won by Jamie Waldron (10) with a net 42, in 2nd place Charlie Emberton (15) with a net 44.5 and in 3rd place Andy Cale (10) with a net 45.
The ladies had the benefit of a group playing lesson with professional Andy Humphreys on Sunday and look forward to making improvements to their game over the winter months.
At Llanymynech Golf Club Steve Gauge and Johnny Cleaton returned a score of nett 59 to win the Christmas Fouir Ball Better Ball Medal from Bazil Griffiths and Andy DOn on 62 and Ed Roberts and Dave Humphreys with 63.
