Two on Town shortlist; decision soon

Technogroup Welshpool are expected to announce a new manager in the next 24 hours after narrowing down their shortlist to two candidates.
One of the names, Connah’s Quay striker Chris Herbert, is being interviewed today with the 32 year-old said to be a slight favourite over Steve Ohara, who was previously with Marine and Vauxhall Motors and was interviewed on Saturday.
Both are believed to be keen for the post despite the club floating adrift at the bottom of the table following their crippling 15-point deduction and the recent departure of two managers in succession.
And the club is under no illusions as to what the new manager’s targets should be.
“We’re looking for someone who wants to rebuild the team over the next three seasons,” said General Manager, Liam Pritchard. “At a push we may survive this season, but our aim is to win the Mid Wales League next season. It would also be nice to win a cup to make all of the effort worthwhile in the short terms so we will be taking competitions like the Central Wales Cup very seriously. A cup win would be a welcome distraction from the league woes!”
