Fossils win battle of the Veterans

Welshpool Fossils won the battle of the unbeaten veterans at The Flash last night (Friday), beating Trewern 5-3.

The Fossils raced into a two goal lead but the villagers pegged them back to 2-2 before the Welshpool side proved their strength by runninmg away with the match.

Welshpool's goals were from Steve Pritchard(2), Wally Watkins (2) and Richie Jenkins with Trewern replying with efforts from Doug Ellis, Les Vaughan and an Adie Ballard own goal after an error by keeper John Gough.

"Welshpool were always the better side," said Trewern's Dai Ellis. "Even though we got back iknto the match after being two goals behind they were always going to beat us."
