Ben Jones sees a turkey in the fog

Young Ben Jones (14) overcame the heavy fog to win a Christmas turkey at Welshpool Golf Club on Saturday.

He won the 12-hole Turkey Trail Medal with a nett 45 points from Benny Evans (27) with a net 47.5 and in 3rd place Ken Stephens (5) also with a net 47.5. On Sunday a 12 hole Bogey competition was played and won by Gary Laflain (12) with a score of +2,  and in 2nd place Ken Stephens (3) also with a score of +2.

The ladies played the Daily Mail qualifier which was won by Jayne Mitchell & Sylvia Ryder who will go forward to represent the club in the knockout rounds of the competition.
