Only Mitch Butler was able to register a win for the Grapes as they lost 6-1 with Neil Astley and Jan Ashton hitting 180s
This result has reduced the Grapes lead in Division One to only five points at the halfway stage of the season.
Meanwhile, The Raven A remain ahead of the Pheasant after a 4-3 win and, despite a 180 from Barry Thompson, the Talbot B losy 5-2 at the Red Lion Llanfair. The Kings Head beat the Quay by the same score.
Division Two’s leaders suffered the same fate as the top league's after the score of the day was Castle 26ers 5, Green Dragon B 2.
It has given the chasing pack hope, and the Westwood B took full advantage with a 5-2 win at the Goat to move into second.
The Green Dragon A beat the Crown Monty 4-3 and the Station Grill stay fourth with a fine 6-1 win at home to the Welly. In the final game of the night, the Powis Arms won 5-2 against Castle A.
This Friday is the £200 prize money Dennis Shingler Individuals at the Social Club. It is drawn at 8pm with an 8.30pm start.
This week we, the committee, are sorry to hear of the passing of stalwart Ben Gittins. Ben was a player in our league for many a year and received a long service award from us a few years ago. Our thoughts go out to the family at this time, and as Ben would want, we will raise a glass to him on Friday.
