The Grapes took advantage of their close rivals not being in action at the weekend to open up an 11-point gap at the top of the Welshpool and District Darts League, writes Steve Lloyd.

In Division Two, the leaders, Green Dragon B won by the odd game in seven against the Westwood B, as did the Goat against the Wellington and also the Social Club against the Green Dragon A.

The Crown Monty continued their improved form with a 5-2 win at Castle A and the Powis Arms eased past the Station Grill 6-1. The Social Clubs Adam Gough superbly hitting a 114 shot out.

In the Bagshaw Cup the Westwood A, Raven A, Grapes, Talbot A, Red Lion, Green Dragon A and Talbot B. and the Green Dragon B have all progressed through to the next round.
