Town players get ‘Hair-dryer’

Chris Herbert (right) admits he raised the temperature a few degrees at the weekend after reading the riot act to his second half flops on Saturday.

Leading 1-0 at the turn against a tough Buckley side, Herbert devised a second half plan which he said the players left behind in the changing room after leaking two soft goals.

“The way we conceded was shocking,” he fumed. “To say I was angry is an understatement. I told the lads exactly what I thought after the game and I don’t think they will be doing it again.

“We had our tactics on the changing room wall for the lads to know their duties, but for some reason in the second half they decided to ignore the plan and it cost us dearly. If they had kept to the plan we would have won the game 1-0.”

It was another improved showing from the Huws Gray Alliance’s bottom side but it won’t be getting any easier this weekend.

“We just need to dust ourselves down and work on getting things right in training ready for the visit of league leaders Connahs Quay,” said the boss.
