Welshpool groups help charities
The Inner Wheel held a coffee morning in Montgomery in support of the international charity, Mary’s Meals, who help disadvantaged children by providing nutritious meals during term time.
Meanwhile, the team led by Secretary, Susan Williams, were winners of the Rotary Inner Wheel Wise Owl Quiz at the Royal Oak.
Members also attended the District Rally at Llangollen.
Marian James will host an afternoon tea at her home tomorrow (Thursday) for her charity Severn Hospice. The next meeting will be at the Raven on May 21.
The Rotary Club of Welshpool held a successful fundraising event at Welshpool Methodist Church in aid of SEDCU which supports educational facilities in Uganda, and has been one of the club’s international projects for 10 years.
Some of the projects undertaken were conveyed to the audience by Ian Hughes before refreshments were provided, and the concert by Concord Choir resumed.
Rotarian President Jeff Davies thanked everyone for their support.
The next meeting will be May 8th.
