McCartneys on awards shortlist

McCartneys, which has eight branches across Powys, has beaten off stiff competition to be named a finalist in the Small Business Category of the prestigious Powys Business Awards.

Started in 2009, the awards shine a light on both business talent and the quality of companies operating in Powys.

In a fiercely-contested competition, 30 businesses have been shortlisted for 10 different award categories the length and the breadth of Powys from Ystradgynlais in the south to Llansantffraid in the north.

Tom Carter, a Partner with McCartneys said: “Powys has a thriving business community and we know from meeting people through our various departments just how diverse the employment opportunities are here from manufacturing and professional services through to the arts.  

“It’s really gratifying to be shortlisted. Congratulations and good luck to all our fellow finalists.”

McCartneys established in 1874 has a strong reputation in the county with estate agency branches, livestock market, fine art auction house, survey department and an experienced team of rural professionals.

Awards winners will be chosen following judges visits which having been taking place over the summer months.  Always an extremely popular event, tickets for the dinner at The Hafren in Newtown on October 6, sold out within hours.
