Local company’s teamwalk challenge

The self-styled Welsh Dragons from Bluefin’s Welshpool office tackled a company-wide walking Challenge which saw them rack up 45,000 steps over the course of the day’s activities.

With Sharon Roberts in charge of the map and Esther de Zeeuw in charge of keeping the pace up, the five-strong team (pictured) managed to complete the Challenge in just 5 hours 29 minutes, putting them firmly in the top 10 of all teams.

Carol Gray, Louise Evans and Christine Duquemin are all keen fitness enthusiasts, and being able to combine a teambuilding event with raising a fantastic amount of money for charity seemed too good an opportunity to pass up.

The event was organised by Bluefin’s parent company Marsh & McLennan Companies, and the 500 colleagues taking part, including the Welsh Dragons, raised a record £34,320 for the British Red Cross.

The team are all based in Bluefin’s Welshpool office on Severn Road, and look after the business insurance requirements for a number of local and UK clients. They noted that being able to raise money for a cause that directly funds projects in the UK and in local communities was a big win for them.
