Carers required by Abacare

Due to ongoing growth in Newtown, Welshpool, Llanidloes, Machynlleth and surrounding areas, we are looking for full time and part time carers to join our friendly team providing valuable care in your community. No experience needed as full training is provided. If you enjoy flexible shifts, this could be the role for you.

Personal care including but not limited to:

·         Washing the body (including intimate areas), Bathing and/or Showering;

·         Assistance with make-up and personal grooming;

·         Oral Hygiene;

·         Assisting in or out of bed;

·         Assisting to dress or undress;

·         Assisting to prepare meals;

·         Support to eat or drink;

·         Assisting to use the toilet or a commode;

·         Assisting to management continence;

·         Skin Care including monitoring skin condition (e.g. pressure sores);

·         Health-related tasks

With appropriate supervision and training from a healthcare professional, care workers may be required to support with health-related tasks, which might include:

·         Administration of medicines (and appropriate recording and reporting thereof)

·         Catheter care

·         Stoma care

·         Domestic cleaning (including vacuuming, dusting, polishing, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens etc.);

·         Laundry and ironing;

·         Support with household management and personal finances (budgeting, bills etc.);

·         Escorting on activities outside the home. 

Experience:

·         Must be 18 years old – 17 years old (if they are nearing their 18th birthday)

·         Non-driver vacancies available

·         No experience needed – full training provided
